The 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommendations have been made by the advisory committee.
Positives include promoting sustainability, whole food, and plant based diets, as well as limits on sugar, and relaxing restrictions on dietary cholesterol.
The committee also acknowledges the importance of proper nutrition and mental health.
These are just committee recommendations, and will not be finalized by the DHHS and USDA until the end of this year, after public comments have been considered.
Comments can be submitted in writing until 4/8/15, and there is a public oral comment meeting on 3/24/15
